For April’s Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month, the Marshfield Child Advocacy Center (MCAC) wanted to raise awareness and funds for prevention activities through the sale of Child Abuse Awareness buttons.
This year, our buttons featured artwork created by children attending the Marshfield Clinic’s Youth Net program. We encouraged every student attending Youth Net to create fun and colorful artwork based on the theme Every Child Matters.
11-year old Mariah Davis (pictured below) was selected as the winner after working on her artistic piece for a week before submitting. MCAC staff visited Mariah and presented her with an award, framed picture of her artwork, extra buttons to share with family and friends, and art supplies for her next project. We look forward to running the contest again next year.
